Do you know what makes prisoners busy in jails? I always have this impression that prisoners are either wrestling with their fellow brawny inmates or just doing basically nothing. Well, that’s what I’ve noticed from movies or television shows.
But, that is not the case for these 1,500 inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and RehabilitationCenter in the Philippines who dances to the Michael Jackson song “Thriller” in this YouTube footage. I always thought prison is not supposed to be fun and yet even incarcerated, those people are remarkable. It is such a great and interesting way to reinforce positive behavior and attitude in the inmates through this rehabilitation approach. Moreover, weekly outbreaks of violence have been reported to subside, prisoners’ health has progressed, and habitual relapse into crime decreased dramatically.
