YouTube Suit Threatens Online Communication

YouTube has been the most popular video-sharing site for millions of people all over the world who love and enjoy exchanging all kinds of information on the internet. However, the latest lawsuit declared by Viacom, Inc. charges the site liable for the outburst of copyright infringement.

With the ever expanding reputation of YouTube, holding the carriers and hosting providers legally responsible for internet communications will surely threaten the way people exchange information, news, entertainment, political thoughts and artistic expressions. We cannot deny the fact that clips from television programs and movies posted in the site have actually been viewed millions of times. However, YouTube claims that the number of unauthorized cuts represents only a small fraction of the site’s content and most videos offered were actually produced and posted by the users.
